Boccia: No title for the Périgourdins

Boccia: No title for the Périgourdins
The results of the Sanilhacois were not up to par. club

Three people from Sanilhac were in Thuir (Pyrénées-Orientales) this weekend for the French Boccia Championships.

For the fourth consecutive year, the Sanilhac Boccia Club was represented at the French Championships held in the Pyrénées-Orientales region, in Thuir, near Perpignan. But things didn't go as planned. Vincent Barou, Patricia Bechereau, and Alexandre Laguillier, each in their respective categories (the first two in NE3 (mainly leg disabilities, most often in a manual wheelchair) and Alexandre Laguillier in NE4, a disability that allows him to move around standing up all the time), achieved results that fell short of their objectives.

Vincent Barrou and Alexandre Laguillier had set their sights on the quarterfinals. Patricia Bechereau, on the other hand, wanted to advance from the group stage. Unfortunately, the level was very high. Alexandre Laguillier won two out of three matches, but despite this strong performance in the group stage, he was eliminated on goal average and therefore couldn't reach the quarterfinals. These championships are inevitably disappointing, especially when it's decided by such close margins. Vincent Barou didn't fare any better. He won only one out of three matches and didn't advance from the group stage. Finally, Patricia Bechereau didn't win a single match.
