Boulazac's U18 elite team will resume their championship action this Sunday, September 14, at the Agora, against JSA Bordeaux. Boulazac will be competing with a largely renewed squad.

On the first floor of the BBD training center, the elite U18s will present a significantly modified squad compared to last season. The departures recorded during the summer, notably the promotion of Hugo Lasalvary to the Espoirs team, had to be compensated by the recruitment of new players (Nahel Adekembi, Charles-Alexandre Mpome, Thomas Leotard, Maguette Seck and Jason Essoua) who will join the six remaining players (Corentin Pages, Sean Arthur, Noam Heffer, Ibrahim Samut, Zaki Boualem and Élie Ségaud), plus Maddy Egbeleou, promoted to the squad. The whole should form a solid group within which several youngsters will be able to benefit from bridges with the U17 region or the U21 Espoirs.

On the coaching staff side, Anthony Monset remains the head coach but will now be assisted by Loïc Masson, Guillaume Joly having left for JSA Bordeaux. A team that Boulazacois will meet this Sunday (3:30 p.m.)!

Last season left them with mixed feelings, with inconsistent results that prevented them from qualifying for the top group after the first phase. And the squad, hampered by injuries throughout the season, was only able to express its potential in fits and starts.

Same hen as usual

For Anthony Monset, it's about opening a new chapter. "We hope to move forward with this new generation of promising young players. They'll discover a new world and they'll be able to count on those who arrived last season and who now have a better approach to the club's daily work."

On a sporting level, the objective will be to do better than last season: "To be ready to start the season and play for qualification in Group A at the end of the first phase." To do this, it will be necessary to play the leading roles in a very homogeneous group, still composed of CSP Limoges, Élan Béarnais Pau-Lacq-Orthez, Toulouse OAC, CTC du Grand Dax and, therefore, the Bordeaux team, the first visitors to the Agora.
