The canoeists and kayakers of Périgord, as usual, were a hit last week during the selection races for the French river descent teams in Béarn. The composition of these teams has been announced and there will be eight from the department wearing the blue jersey this summer.

Including seven in the French senior team: Marsacois Nicolas Sauteur (single-seater and double-seater canoe with Théo Viens from Isle-sur-la-Sorgue) and Maxence Barouh (kayak), twins Manoël and Tanguy Roussin, from Neuvic (C2), Manon Hostens (K1) and Pierre Troubady (C1), from Périgueux, as well as Emma Lacoste (Castelnaud, K1). They will first participate in the European classic and sprint championship in Mezzana (from June 4 to 8), as well as the first three rounds of the World Cup in Banja-Luka (Bosnia-Herzegovina), between July 7 and 13.

Then, at the end of September, there will be the Sprint World Championships in the Czech Republic, followed by the fourth and fifth rounds of the World Cup in Skopje (North Macedonia). Except for Manon Hostens, who is still competing in road racing at the same time. Emma Lacoste will also be competing with the under-23s, as will Marsacois Mattéo Zanni (C1), at the Classic and Sprint World Championships in Solkan (Slovenia), between June 30 and July 6.
