The Houston Rockets confirmed Sunday the arrival of NBA superstar Kevin Durant from Phoenix, in a massive move involving seven franchises.

"Get to work," the Rockets posted on their social media with a photo of Durant to confirm the biggest move of the offseason, announced by broadcaster ESPN two weeks ago.

Durant, who turns 37 in September after a failed stint in Phoenix, will try to bounce back for an 18th NBA season in Houston, a team on the rise that finished second in the Western Conference last season.

"My time in Phoenix is coming to an end. All my stops have had a positive impact on me (...) I enjoyed all our interactions, from the staff to the players, it's a family that I'm happy to be a part of. I sincerely believe that the NBA is just one big community. Sending all my love to Arizona. Houston, I can't wait!" Durant wrote on his X account.

Eighth best scorer in the history of the North American league (30,571 points), between Wilt Chamberlain and Shaquille O'Neal, 14 times All-Star, "KD" thus reinforces the ambitions of a team that is once again a candidate for the title.

"Having played against Kevin and then coached him before, I know he's the kind of competitor that fits what we've built here in Houston," Rockets coach Ime Udoka, who worked with the forward in Brooklyn and on the national team, said in a statement.

Houston will also welcome center Clint Capela from Atlanta. This transfer was known for a few days , and it is now official.

This is a return to his roots for the 31-year-old Geneva center, who played for the Rockets from 2014 to 2020. Capela signed for three years and $21.5 million.
