Victorious against OM at the end of the match, OL were slow to capitalize on their numerical superiority against a Marseille side reduced to ten men. However, several players were able to shine in a system without a central striker. For Marseille, captain Leonardo Balerdi missed his match, as did Mason Greenwood.

Descamps (6): he had nothing to do in the first half but that didn't stop him from causing a few cold sweats for the Lyon fans. He was very limited on some kicks ( ^2nd , ^18th ), but he recovered in the second half. He boxed out a shot from Höjberg on a Marseille counterattack ( ^63rd ) and made a reflex save on a backheel from Traoré that could have hit the target ( ^68th ).
