The Socios Verts supporters' group intends to acquire a stake in ASSE. Members of the group will be able to become members of the Saint-Étienne club by paying a membership fee of €19.93.

Like FC Barcelona or Real Madrid, Saint-Étienne fans will be able to become shareholders in the club. On Saturday, August 16, AS Saint-Étienne approved the acquisition of the Socios Verts association. The group, led by Jeremy Chatonnier, convinced a minority shareholder to sell his shares and has one month to raise the money.
"This shareholder, who wishes to remain anonymous for the moment, contacted us in March to offer to buy his shares ," the president of the Green Socios told Le Monde . This is excellent news for us. We still need to raise the €150,000 needed to purchase the shares." The group is offering various subscription packages to Saint-Étienne fans who can become shareholders in the club. The youngest - those under 18 - can contribute for €6. Others have several offers: €19.33 - like the year the club was founded, 1933 - or €1,976, in reference to the year of the Champions League final.

" We started the subscription process 24 hours ago, we have 500 members and 30,000 euros raised without any advertising," says Jeremy Chatonnier. A number of members that has already quadrupled two days later.
The association has until September 10th to raise the necessary funds to officially become a shareholder on September 12th. And even if the share is only 0.1%, it could represent much more for future ASSE members.
