Football: Former ASSE President Roland Romeyer Targeted by Two Complaints for Harassment and Sexist Outrage

According to information from Le Progrès, the former owner of AS Saint-Etienne, Roland Romeyer, is the target of two complaints of harassment and sexist abuse by two of the club's employees.
Since retiring from ASSE in 2024, Roland Romeyer has been rather discreet. Now he's back in the news, but not for good reasons.
According to our colleagues at Le Progrès , the former Saint-Étienne boss is the target of two complaints from two employees for "harassment and sexist insults, aggravated by hierarchical status or minority status," according to the Saint-Étienne public prosecutor, Anne Gaches. An investigation was opened in June 2025 and is still ongoing. He therefore remains innocent at this stage.
The facts allegedly date back to before the sale of the Forez club to Kilmer Sports. He is said to have behaved inappropriately towards employees of an external service provider.
Contacted by the newspaper, ASSE "condemns all forms of violence and inappropriate behavior, both on and off the pitch," without providing further comment. Roland Romeyer remained at the head of the Greens for 20 years, from 2004 to 2024.
