Football: Thomas Müller made his MLS debut with Vancouver

The former Bayern Munich striker made his debut last night in his new MLS colors. Without success.
Bayern Munich legend Thomas Müller made his MLS debut on Sunday with his new club Vancouver, only to have a goal ruled out for offside. A world champion with Germany, a two-time Champions League winner, and a 13-time German champion with Bayern, where he joined at the age of 10, Müller, 35, has chosen to finish his career in the North American league (MLS), playing for Canada's Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
He came on in the 61st minute against Houston (1-1) to a huge ovation, three days after his transfer was made official, with a contract until the end of 2025, possibly renewable in 2026. "Mixed feelings," commented Müller after the draw, "I managed to score my first goal here on my first chance, the crowd was going crazy, but the goal was disallowed for offside (...) the result is disappointing, to be honest." Vancouver now occupies third place in the Western Conference with 46 points, six points behind leader San Diego and one point behind Minnesota.
