Television: LCI is the leading news channel for the first time since its creation, ahead of CNews and BFMTV

With a 3.6% market share, LCI overtook CNews (3.5%) and BFMTV (3.2%). Far ahead of Franceinfo (1%).

This respectable score also allows it to become the sixth most-watched television channel in France. TF1 is still the leader with 20.4% audience share, ahead of France 2 (13.7%), M 6 (9.4%), France 3 (8.7%) and France 5 (3.7%).

Numbering effect

In addition to the news from earlier this week, it is the upheaval in the TNT numbering system that may have given it this boost. Since June, and the creation of a news block by Arcom, LCI is no longer on slot 26 since it inherited number 15, previously occupied by BFMTV, now on number 13.
