Missed dress rehearsal. Two weeks before their World Cup debut, the French team was beaten by England (40-6) in a Crunch that represented their only warm-up match , on Saturday, August 9, on the pitch of the André-et-Guy-Boniface stadium in Mont-de-Marsan. Largely dominated physically, the Blues notably cracked on three carried balls, the Red Roses' weapon of choice, in the first half, and were unable to reverse the trend after the break, with six tries conceded in total and none scored.
Not the best start for the French national team, just days before their departure to England for the World Cup (August 22-September 27). Gaëlle Mignot and David Ortiz's players will kick off their tournament against Italy on Saturday, August 23, at Sandy Park in Exeter. The day before, the Red Roses will play their opening match against the United States in Sunderland.
