Giro 2025: route, profile and schedule of the sixth stage between Potenza and Naples

Giro 2025: route, profile and schedule of the sixth stage between Potenza and Naples

The longest stage of the 2025 Giro d'Italia marks the beginning of the climb back to northern Italy. After starting in Lucania, the riders will tackle the Valico di Monte Carruozzo climb before switching to a fast route leading to Campania. The peloton will then skirt Mount Vesuvius to the north to reach the province of Naples. The finish of the course, generally flat over the last 60 kilometers, promises to be favorable for sprint teams. This will be the fourth consecutive finish in Naples, an emblematic southern city dear to the memory of Maradona, a place of victory for Mads Pedersen in 2023 .

The final 45 kilometers, entirely urban, will pose mainly technical challenges: a series of towns, roundabouts, lane dividers, and porphyry-paved sections will alternate with good-quality asphalt. The entrance to Naples will be via a fast road of approximately 20 km. The finale will be tense with a few bends, a short cobbled climb, and then a final two perfectly flat kilometers toward Via Caracciolo. The finish line, a 900-meter, 9-meter-wide straight, will provide ideal terrain for a tough battle between the sprinters.
