Niçoise Loïs Boisson achieves the feat of qualifying for the semi-final of Roland-Garros by sweeping world 6th Mirra Andreeva

After being pushed around in the first set by 18-year-old Russian phenomenon Mirra Andreeva, Loïs Boisson (world number 361) once again pulled off a stunning victory. Trailing 3-1, she then broke her opponent twice to lead 6-5 and then win in a tiebreak after one hour and 21 minutes of play.
The second set was a repeat performance, with the former Tennis Club Beaulieu-sur-Mer player, now at TC Nice Giordan, turning the tables to win 6-3 after being down 3-0.
" It was incredible to feel supported like that, indescribable. Physically? I think I ran a bit too much, I was so tense that it wasn't coming out of my racket very well. The first set was super intense and I was struggling at the start of the second, but I was able to pull myself together. The time until the semi-final? The routine won't change: recover as much as possible, go see the physiotherapists... I think there are 6 in my box, I have what I need (laughs) ," she declared after the match.
Unperturbed, Loïs Boisson will face world number 2 Coco Gauff in the semi-final this Thursday, having beaten Madison Keys earlier in the day.
