No finishers at the Chartreuse Terminorum 2025, Sébastien Raichon signs a Fun Run

Like its big American sister, the Barkley, held in Tennessee , the Chartreuse Terminorum will not have a finisher this year. The most difficult and merciless race in France (300 km, 25,000 m of elevation gain, without markings, GPS or assistance), which takes place in the Grande Chartreuse National Forest in Isère, ended during the night from Saturday to Sunday around midnight when the last competitor still in the running finally threw in the towel. There were 38 brave souls at the start, Friday morning at 00:04.
Sébastien Raichon arrived at the base camp in Saint-Pierre-de-Chartreuse at 11:59 p.m. He was on schedule, having completed three of the five loops in this crazy race, five minutes ahead of the time limit (0:04). He could have started again on the fourth, but the 51-year-old Vaucluse native, a great adventurer and sports teacher, decided not to continue his already magnificent work. With three loops, Raichon thus achieved a "Fun Run" (3 successful loops).
