Paris 2024 Olympics: Budget surplus climbs to 76 million euros, a boon for French sport

Paris 2024 Olympics: Budget surplus climbs to 76 million euros, a boon for French sport

Although Paris 2024 initially announced a surplus of 26.8 million euros, at the end of the day, at least 76 million euros will be allocated to sport.

The final Paris 2024 board meeting will be held on Tuesday, June 17, officially marking the end of the Games organizing committee in France. While a liquidator, tasked with sorting out the final details and dissolving the association, will take over, Tony Estanguet has already announced that Paris 2024 will end its adventure with a (minimum) surplus of €76 million.

Much better than the €26.8 million announced "with caution" last December, when many cases were still pending. Still in this spirit of caution, the estimates have not been revealed, but the surplus will increase further and could approach €100 million, once the final adjustments have been made.
