Tennis: Andreeva, 17, enters the world top 10

The youngest winner of a WTA 1000 tournament in Dubai last weekend, Russian Mirra Andreeva has moved into the world top 10, still dominated by Aryna Sabalenka.
Russian tennis player Mirra Andreeva, 17, entered the world top 10 for the first time in her career on Monday after becoming the youngest winner of a WTA 1000 tournament in Dubai on Saturday. She climbs five places to world No. 9, while Dubai finalist Clara Tauson of Denmark jumps to 23rd (+15).
The top 3, led by Belarusian Aryna Sabalenka (N.1), eliminated in the 8th , Polish Iga Swiatek (N.2), eliminated in the quarter-finals by Andreeva, and American Coco Gauff (N.3), beaten at the start, remains unchanged. Kazakh Elena Rybakina, whom Andreeva beat in the semi-final of the tournament, remains 7th ahead of Chinese Qinwen Zheng. Another semi-finalist, Czech Karolina Muchova gains two places (15th).
Among the French women, the first in the ranking is still Caroline Garcia (70th), two places ahead of Varvara Gracheva, and sixteen ahead of Diane Parry (86th, -2).
