Tennis: Arthur Rinderknech eliminated from the start in Winston Salem

Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech was knocked out in the first round of the ATP 250 tournament in Winston Salem (United States) by Serbian Hamad Medjedovic (6-3, 7-6 (11/9).
Rinderknech (30 years old, ranked 70th), who retired in the third round of the Masters 1000 in Cincinnati earlier this week, saved four match points before losing in a long tie-break in the second set against the 22-year-old world number 72. The Frenchman will now head to the US Open, which begins on August 24 in New York.
