Landes: Two surfers save a woman from drowning

The victim, who was in difficulty offshore at the time of the tide change, was treated by the firefighters and evacuated to Dax hospital.
Two surfers, quickly joined by lifeguards stationed on Messanges beach, saved a woman from drowning at midday on Friday, June 13, 2025.
As the tide changed, the 27-year-old victim found herself in difficulty offshore. Unable to return to the beach on her own, she was escorted out of the water.
Firefighters who arrived at the scene took her into care. In a relatively emergency state and suffering from shock, the woman was taken to Dax Côte d'Argent Hospital.
