5 Of The Best Club GAA Games To Watch This Weekend

5 Of The Best Club GAA Games To Watch This Weekend

It’s a massive weekend on the club GAA scene, with county finals, fierce local derbies, and heavyweight clashes right across the country. From David Clifford and Fossa aiming for another fairytale win to Dr Crokes chasing more Kerry silverware, here are the standout fixtures to watch this weekend.

Limerick SHC Round 5 - Patrickswell v Na Piarsaigh

Where to watch: StreamSport When: Saturday, 13th September, 3:30pm Location: Claughaun

A heavyweight Limerick hurling battle with no shortage of intercounty stars. Aaron Gillane, Diarmaid Byrnes, Cian Lynch and Shane Dowling are all expected to feature, while Shane O’Neill’s Na Piarsaigh remain serious contenders for county honours. This one has all the ingredients of a final despite only being a quarter-final, with the winner here strongly fancied to push towards the county title.

Kerry IFC Final - Fossa v An Ghaeltacht

Where to watch: Clubber When: Sunday, 14th September, 1:00pm Location: Tralee (Double Header)

The Clifford brothers are back in club colours for Fossa, who only stepped up from junior level in 2023. A county final victory here would be a huge statement for the rising club, but An Ghaeltacht stand firmly in their way. The spotlight will be firmly on the Clifford brothers once again as they look to bring their summer brilliance in green and gold to inspire the red and black of Fossa to victory.

Meath SFC Quarter-Final - Wolfe Tones v Dunshaughlin

Where to watch: TG4 When: Sunday, 14th September, 1:20pm

Location: Navan

Last year’s county final pairing meet much earlier this time, with Dunshaughlin aiming to back up their breakthrough title win. They edged Wolfe Tones in a tense decider in 2023 to lift their first crown in two decades, while the Tones topped their group this year unbeaten. With county stars like Adam O’Neill, Mathew Costello and Ruairí Kinsella on show, this promises to be one of the weekend’s most fiercely contested games. A proper grudge match, it’s set up as the standout tie of the Meath quarter-finals.

Kerry Club SFC Final - Dr Crokes v Na Gaeil

Where to watch: TG4 When: Sunday, 14th September, 3:10pm Location: Tralee

Na Gaeil are the new force in Tralee, with Jack Barry, Stefan Okunbor and Diarmuid O’Connor driving them forward. But Dr Crokes are still the aristocrats of Kerry club football – Tony Brosnan hit eight points in the semi-final, while Gavin White and Micheál Burns bring big-game pedigree. This final pits Kerry's most decorated club against one of its fastest rising challengers.

Cork SFC Round 3 - Castlehaven v Newcestown

Where to watch: Clubber When: Sunday, 14th September, 4:00pm Location: Rossmore

Castlehaven sit firmly among Cork's "big three" alongside Nemo Rangers and St Finbarrs's, with their dominance broken only rarely, 2021 was the last occasion one of them failed to make it out of their group. This year, both Castlehaven and Newcestown have taken care of Mallow and Valley Rovers, meaning their Rossmore showdown will decide who tops group 1.
