Cork duo doubtful for Waterford showdown

Declan Dalton and Niall O’Leary are in a race against time to be fit for Cork’s crucial Munster SHC clash with Waterford on Sunday.

The duo went off injured during last Sunday’s crushing loss to Limerick and are doubtful for the big Páirc Uí Chaoimh showdown which the Rebels need to win to set up a likely Munster SHC final rematch with John Kiely’s men. Dalton pulled a hamstring in the early stages, while O’Leary was forced off with a groin problem.

“Both Niall and Declan have had scans and we’re waiting on the results back,” Cork manager Pat Ryan told The Echo.

“They’re probably not as bad as we feared they might be coming out, but I’d say they’d be extremely doubtful for the weekend.”
