Cittadella-Salernitana 0-2, the Granata conquer the “Tombolato” and go to the playouts

Salernitana beats Cittadella 2-0 on the last day of the Serie B regular season and earns the chance to play for permanence in the second division through the playout against Frosinone. Hrustic unlocks the game in the 11th minute with a masterful free kick that leaves no escape for the opposing goalkeeper. In the second half, Simy scores the second goal.

3′ – The first action is by Salernitana with Ghiglione who heads a cross from the left but the trajectory ends high.

4′ – Cittadella responds with Tessiore who tries a header but Christensen saves without problems.

11′ – SALERNITANA GOAL. The Granata take the lead with a splendid free kick from the edge of the area scored by Hrustic.

18 – Tronchin anticipates L. Amatucci but his conclusion goes wide.

19′ – Personal action by Rabbi who enters the area but at the moment of the shot he is blocked by the Granata defense which allows Christensen to block the ball.

24′ – Cross from Caligara with Cittadella’s defense creating confusion and Simy almost taking advantage.

37′ – Cittadella gains ground and forcefully asks for a penalty for an alleged foul on Rabbi . However, the VAR check favors the Granata and the referee does not award the maximum penalty.

44′ – Sensational missed goal by Tongya : one-on-one with Kastrati he shoots badly high.

69′ – Pandolfi jumps higher than anyone else following a corner kick but fails to hit the target.

72′ – Corazza saves Salernitana’s goal on a sure-fire shot from Okwonkwo from the centre of the area.

74′ – SALERNITANA GOAL. The doubling of the granata is by Simy who persists in a counterattack action and then concludes behind Kastrati.
