Fire in San Donato, a man dies on a mattress engulfed in flames

The victim's name was Emanuele Crippa and he was 55 years old. One of the hypotheses is that he fell asleep with a cigarette in his hand

San Donato Milanese (Milan), June 19, 2025 – Flames engulfing a mattress, then the entire bedroom. Trapping a man, who will be killed. This is what happened yesterday evening, around 11:00 p.m., in via Caviaga 5 in San Donato Milanese, a stone's throw from the metro and the former Snam swimming pool.

The fire broke out in a third-floor apartment, where the mattress caught fire and then the fire spread to the bedroom. A 55-year-old man was engulfed in flames: rescuers pulled him out unconscious, and despite attempts to resuscitate him , he died in hospital. The victim's name was Emanuele Crippa , born in Monza in 1970. Neighbors say that after his mother's death he was going through a difficult time, one hypothesis is that he fell asleep with a cigarette in his hand.
