Foggiani in the square for Gaza, large political delegation at the national demonstration in Rome

There was also a large delegation from Foggia at the large national march in favor of the Palestinian people that today crossed the streets of the capital, from Piazza Vittorio Emanuele to San Giovanni. According to the organizers, there were 300 thousand people present, who took to the streets to say "enough of the massacre" and ask for an immediate truce in Gaza . The estimates of the police headquarters speak instead of about 50 thousand participants , but what is certain is that the mobilization involved a large part of the country, with peace flags, Palestinian symbols and messages against war and international indifference.

Among the participants were also several representatives of the 5 Star Movement of Foggia and its province : the regional councillor Rosa Barone , the MEP Mario Furore and the deputy Marco Pellegrini , the municipal councillors Francesco Strippoli , Francesco Salemme and Antonio De Sabato (Progetto ConCittadino) and the councillor for the Environment Lucia Aprile .

“Today we are here to forcefully say enough to the massacre , to ask for justice and freedom for the Palestinian people ,” Furore declared. “The voice of those who no longer accept indifference is raised from every corner of the country.”

The procession, opened by the banner “Gaza stop the massacre. Enough complicity”, unfolded peacefully, between the notes of Bella Ciao and the symbolic image of Picasso's Guernica painting, adapted to the Palestinian flag. Also present were the leaders of Pd, M5S and Avs – Elly Schlein , Giuseppe Conte , Nicola Fratoianni and Angelo Bonelli – alongside the Cgil , the world of entertainment and numerous associations .

There were moments of tension, with harsh slogans, symbolic performances and some protests under the stage. However, as confirmed by the Rome Police Headquarters , there were no public order problems.
