Forio, work on Via G. Mazzella is progressing quickly.

The emergency, urgent and non-deferrable works called "Temporary defence works awaiting definitive intervention in the Soccorso area, functional section 3" are proceeding in Forio.
The project involved the "disastrous" Via Giovanni Mazzella. This crucial artery had already suffered several serious subsidences over the years, and its stability had been severely compromised by the 2017 earthquake and the exceptional weather events of November 2022. The situation was further exacerbated by the subsequent storm surges that hit the Forian coast. Hence the decision to carry out quick and simple works, erecting reinforced concrete pile bulkheads along the most at-risk sections to protect against storm surges.
This section is financed by Commissioner Legnini for 1,465,000 euros.
Last February, the work was awarded to the company "Ecoval" of Quart in the Aosta Valley for a total contract value of €785,833.75 plus VAT. Respecting the urgency of the situation, the work has already reached the third stage of completion.
Upon the recommendation of the RP architect Federica Verde, the head of the Public Works Department, Engineer Luca De Girolamo, approved the documents of the III SAL drafted by the works manager. He then proceeded to pay the related amount, amounting to €196,058.77. Just over €4,300 was also paid in price increases for three extraordinary payment certificates.
