Luca Menesini's candidacy for the regional elections next October: this is the proposal put forward by the Capannori Democratic Party (PD) , following a well-attended municipal assembly held recently, open to supporters as well. The candidacy proposal was unanimously approved by all those present: in Capannori, in short, the PD has decided to speak with one voice and focus on the two-time mayor and provincial president . Even the internal left-wing component has converged on Menesini.

The Capannori Democratic Party municipal assembly has produced a document proposing his candidacy, with the aim, it is emphasized, of providing citizens with an undoubtedly authoritative political and administrative figure recognized by the local people.

The Capannori Democratic Party unanimously recognizes the administrative qualities, innovation, and citizen-focused approach demonstrated by Menesini in recent years, both as mayor of Capannori and president of the Province. The Capannori Democratic Party, aware of the great responsibility it bears in leading the largest center-left municipality in the province of Lucca, has therefore conducted a thorough assessment of the national, regional, and provincial framework and is ready to do its part to ensure that the Democratic Party and the entire center-left regain control of Tuscany. From this perspective, and given the strong alignment between the Democratic Party's national policies and the policies implemented in recent years by the Capannori municipal administration (think of issues such as local healthcare, the environment, the fight against climate change, schools, support for workers and the most vulnerable sections of the community), we are confident that by making Luca Menesini available to the provincial and regional Democratic Party for the upcoming regional challenge, we are providing one of the most recognized political and administrative figures among the citizens of our province. as a capable, passionate and serious point of reference".

The Democratic Party, where the race for one or two seats was already crowded, has now been enriched by a new name. The battle, if the rumors are confirmed, will truly be a final vote, given that in addition to the outgoing councilors Puppa and Mercanti, the former mayors of Lucca and Camaiore, Tambellini and Del Dotto, respectively, are expected to enter the race.
