Mopeds: Are They Still Worth It? Here Are Nine Models

Mopeds: Are They Still Worth It? Here Are Nine Models

In recent years, there has been much talk about sustainable mobility, micromobility , and how to get around the city quickly while emitting 0 g/km of CO2 or nearly so. The (now partly over) boom in electric scooters is one example, but looking at the field that most interests us, it's undeniable that several manufacturers have taken steps to offer zero-emission scooters . Limiting the discussion to the moped category—or rather, motor vehicles, whether petrol or electric, that can be driven with a class A driving licence —the results have not been convincing for everyone. Removable and home-rechargeable batteries, incentives, silence, and greater sprint have not won over all users, who are skeptical about the range or blocked by a higher purchase price than petrol-powered mopeds . So, if you have to travel more than 50 km a day in the city, the solution falls to internal combustion versions, rather than electric scooters or e-bikes . In the following article sheets we propose nine models that can be purchased in 2025 : they are the Aprilia Sxr, the Keeway Versilia 50, the Kymco Agility R16, the Motron Breezy, the Peugeot Tweet Fl, the Piaggio Liberty, the Sym Symphony, the Tnt Dixon and the Vespa Primavera.
