The Degree Course in Craft Sciences is Born

The path to establish the first degree in Craft Sciences dedicated to economic and managerial training for artisan businesses began yesterday, May 17, in Padua, from the conference “ArtigianIA – A degree in artisan intelligence”. A project that sees the Ministry of University and Research, University and Confartigianato national allies to enhance the skills of entrepreneurs and provide the new generations with an ad hoc academic course of studies to guide companies. Speakers at the conference included, among others, the Minister of University and Research Anna Maria Bernini, the rector of the University of Padua Daniela Mapelli, the president of Confartigianato Marco Granelli.
"The degree in Craft Sciences - explained Minister Anna Maria Bernini - is an innovative path that comes from listening to the territory, from the far-sighted vision of businesses, from the availability of the university and from the commitment of the ministry. An initiative designed to enhance knowledge and know-how, offering young people the tools to face the challenges of the world of work with competence and awareness". "The mission of the university - underlined the rector of the University of Padua Daniela Mapelli - is to connect the world of education with the territory, to maintain a very close bond and dialogue with the outside world, to understand the needs of businesses. For this reason we focus on lifelong learning also with the offer of microcredentials, packages of skills offered not only to graduates but also to all those who intend to enrich their knowledge in specific areas and linked to the evolution of the world of work".
"The initiative - explained the president of Confartigianato Marco Granelli - was born from the desire to bring together universities and companies to strengthen the centuries-old productive culture of our entrepreneurs in a training path useful for possessing the indispensable tools to face the opportunities offered by technological innovation, green and digital transitions, and competition on global markets". The mayor of Padua Sergio Giordani brought greetings from the city, while the councilor for Education, Work and Training of the Veneto Region Valeria Mantovan brought greetings from the Region. "The ArtigianIA degree is not just a title: it is a cultural challenge, a gesture of trust towards a world - that of widespread enterprise, of doing things with your hands and your mind - that still has a lot to offer. Padua is the right place to give birth to this innovation. Here, the link between culture and business is rooted and alive. Our territory is the guardian of an authentic Made in Italy, which knows how to renew itself without losing its identity – explained in his greeting the president of Confartigianato Imprese Padova Gianluca Dall'Aglio, recalling the connection between craftsmanship and the academic world through numerous joint initiatives with the University, such as the Digital Artifex Festival and training projects dedicated to sustainability, innovation and active citizenship.
