(LaPresse) The massive military parade commemorating the 250th birthday of the United States Army, which coincides with President Donald Trump's 79th birthday , was scheduled for Saturday, June 14 in Washington. The parade features a variety of artillery pieces and armored vehicles. In the first 40 minutes, the parade spanned more than 200 years of the history of the U.S. Army, from its inception in 1775 to the Gulf War in 1991. Troops from the 10th Mountain Division have deployed more than 20 times to Afghanistan and Iraq since the attacks of September 11, 2001. Helmeted soldiers atop vehicles smile and wave to the crowd. Soldiers showed off the Army's latest equipment, from modern rifles to vehicles and drones flying overhead. Other helicopter groups flew along the route, including Black Hawks and Chinooks following the Apaches. Several formations flew in quick succession. The event featured approximately 6,600 troops, 50 helicopters, and 60-ton M1 Abrams tanks, as well as 200,000 attendees and increased security.
