"A show that begins at the end of a love story and ends where it should." This is how Lorenzo Maragoni (pictured) introduces ' Typical Italian Male ,' a show that will have its national premiere on Saturday at 9:30 pm in the Borsoni Theater arena in Brescia, as part of the summer festival "Metropolitan Fantasies . Shows, sounds, and visions from around the world at the Borsoni Theater," organized by the Brescia Theater Center and ManoLibera Community Cooperative.
In his project, Maragoni asked himself how, as a man today, one can credibly talk about love, sex, consent, rejection, jealousy, manipulation, violence, but also authenticity, emotions, and freedom. "Typical Italian Male" calls on men to shed the masks they feel compelled to wear, to recognize problematic behaviors, and to seek alternatives.
The show, born from the wake-up call following the femicide of Giulia Cecchettin, develops as a national reflection, involving men's self-awareness groups, experts and the public, in an investigation into the dynamics of masculinity in Italy .
