A concert-dialogue between science and art to commemorate Einstein and the birth of quantum mechanics.
On Thursday, September 4th , at 9:00 PM , the Officine dell'Acqua in Laveno Mombello will host Temporal Interferences: String Quartet Between Waves and Particles , an event that combines music and physics in a unique experience. On stage, theoretical physicist Pietro Antonio Grassi and the String Quartet of the Classical Orchestra of Alessandria will lead the audience on a journey through numbers, waves, sounds, and scientific concepts.
A journey through science, music, and historyThe concert is dedicated to two important anniversaries: the 70th anniversary of Albert Einstein's death and the centenary of the birth of quantum mechanics , celebrating the fundamental works of Heisenberg and Schrödinger. The central theme is time, explored in its various forms: classical, relativistic, quantum, in string theory, and in music.
Lectures by Professor Grassi of the University of Eastern Piedmont alternate with performances by the string quartet. Scientific explanations thus complement pieces by Vivaldi, Mendelssohn, Schostakovich, Satie, and Glass. A way to bring complex topics closer to the general public, without sacrificing the beauty of live music.
Aperitif and guided tourThe event is held at the Fondazione Officine dell'Acqua : a space dedicated to the nautical tradition and the waterways of Lake Maggiore. A museum, laboratory, and cultural meeting place, the Officine are an example of urban regeneration and the valorization of the local industrial heritage.
A place that can be discovered starting at 7:00 pm , enjoying the aperitif set up in the Galley of the Officine dell'Acqua and then joining the guided tour of the museum: an opportunity to get to know the exhibition space and the history of Lake Maggiore up close.
Tickets and informationAdmission to the concert is €10, reduced to €7 for members of the Musica Libera Association. Access to the aperitif dinner with a guided tour costs €15.
