The small village of Biccari, nestled in the Dauni Mountains, will be the protagonist of the preview of the 18th edition of the Lucera Mediterranean Literature Festival on September 4th. The event, organized by the APS Mediterraneo è Cultura with the artistic direction of Annalisa Mentana, precedes the main festival to be held in Lucera from September 18th to 21st, transforming the village into a crossroads of ideas, culture, and sounds.

At 6:30 pm, in the evocative Palazzo Caracciolo in Piazza del Municipio, a public dialogue titled "I Stay, Therefore I Transform. Imagining the Future in Places That Resist" will take place. Speakers will include anthropologist and essayist Laura Marchetti, writer and screenwriter Omar Di Monopoli, journalist and author Luca Martinelli, and lawyer and former mayor of Biccari Gianfilippo Mignogna. Journalist Alessandro Salvatore will moderate the discussion.

The debate will focus on the value of territories as spaces of resistance and rebirth, intertwining ecology, culture, active citizenship, and new forms of living. Laura Marchetti, professor of Anthropology and Intercultural Pedagogy, is the author of numerous essays on ecology and degrowth; Omar Di Monopoli is known for his noir novels set in the South; Luca Martinelli works in local development and environmental communication; Gianfilippo Mignogna led Biccari for three terms, promoting sustainable tourism and innovation in small towns.

The evening will continue at 9 pm in Piazza Umberto I with the Soloist concert by Davide "Boosta" Dileo, co-founder of Subsonica. The musician will present a unique performance with a grand piano and electronics, offering an intimate and immersive sound experience. Boosta, known for his twenty-five-year career and international collaborations, blends music, art, and sound design in a show that deeply engages the audience.

The Biccari preview isn't just a taste of the Festival, but an invitation to rediscover the power of culture in authentic places, where every word and every note becomes an opportunity to imagine the future together.
