The bad weather continued to unleash its full force, and unfortunately, the first evening of the Laveno End of Summer Festival , scheduled for Friday, August 29th, was canceled. Despite the efforts of the FOCUS association, the Laveno Mombello Youth Council , and the support of the Fire Department , heavy rains on Thursday the 28th made it impossible to set up the necessary facilities for the event.

This is a tough blow for the volunteers who have been working on this initiative for months, which is more than just a music festival but a true community experience. As this year's slogan, "The Light on the Lake," states, the event aims to illuminate not only summer evenings but also the connection between young people and the entire community, creating moments of encounter, culture, and sharing.

"Behind every evening are weeks of work, meetings, energy, and sacrifice," the organizers explain. "For us, this festival is a way to demonstrate that even young people can create something meaningful for everyone. When rain ruins everything, it's not just a practical issue, but also an emotional and financial one. That's why we ask the community to support us by attending the confirmed evenings and sharing the spirit of the festival."

The program will continue as usual on Saturday, August 30th and Sunday, August 31st , with live music, sports activities such as beach volleyball and yoga, creative workshops, and a food stand, which will again this year offer the famous Panzerock panzerotti , also open for lunch on Sunday. Participating isn't just about having fun; it's also about helping the young volunteers cover expenses and ensuring the project's continuity.

In past years, the festival has attracted hundreds of people, establishing itself as one of the most heartfelt summer events in Laveno. Overcoming this year's challenges together will strengthen future editions and enhance an experience that belongs to the entire lakeside community .
