The Mantova Summer Festival closes out tonight with a grand finale in Piazza Sordello featuring Nick Cave . Accompanied by Radiohead bassist Colin Greenwood , the acclaimed bard of darkness, author of visionary works such as “The Batman's Call” and “Dig, Lazarus, Dig!!!,” offers the audience a journey through his experiences with the Bad Seeds , ranging from the opening “Girl in Amber,” drawn from the superb “Skeleton Tee” of nine years ago, to philosopher's stones that speak of love, loss, faith, and redemption like “Love Letters” and “Into My Arms,” relegated to the encore along with a cover of T. Rex's “Cosmic Dancer.”

A dialogue suspended between minimalism and emotional intensity, with which Cave and Greenwood continue a partnership born from the needs of the Warracknabeal singer, songwriter, writer, actor, and screenwriter. "With or without the Bad Seeds, concerts continue to be a kind of lifeline for me," admits Nicholas Edward Cave, 67, alluding to the life that took two children from him. "Something extraordinary, which has allowed me to remain open to the world instead of withdrawing into myself."
