The real souvenir is the super local product

Everyone's crazy about local foods, even those you buy at the supermarket. This is 'grocery tourism', a type of tourism that, when thinking about a vacation destination, already knows where it will go first: to the supermarket to discover specialties found only there. Because it's not just the production of fine cheeses on the farm or the oil from the charming olive oil mills that can interest the gourmet; there are also more popular places to discover, for example, products from super-local brands or artisanal supermarket products, like a certain piadina, a certain ricotta, a preserve, or a pasta. And these are the highly prized souvenirs of a trip that, when tasted, will remind us of the vacation. A stroll through the grocery stores (yes, groceries) is also a must, where you always discover treasures. Passing through Porto San Giorgio, right on the road, I brought home dinner that evening: Campofilone macaroni, olive oil, and creamed eggplant with pink peppercorns. All made in Marche.
