The Sagra del Mare returns to Procida with the election of the Graziella and concerts by The Kolors and Joe Barbieri

Five days of completely free concerts , shows , and maritime traditions , and the inevitable election of Graziella : the Sagra del Mare di Procida returns for its 75th edition , from July 22nd to 30th 2025 , involving the entire island, which is transformed into a true open-air theater. A festival that recounts not only the culture and traditions of the island, but also its visceral relationship with the sea, infinite and alive like its islanders , born from the desire of the Procidians to valorize maritime traditions, the stories of the fishermen, the culture of work and navigation, and the rituals of island life, and which culminates in the election of Graziella, symbol of Procida's identity, femininity, and culture.

“The Sagra del Mare and the election of the Graziella, due to their indisputable uniqueness, have always contributed to strengthening the appeal of Procida and the whole of Campania in the tourism market”, explains Leonardo Costagliola , Councillor for Tourism for the Municipality of Procida. It will therefore be a true Sea Festival , in which everyone is invited to take part at any moment: the most touching, the Holy Mass in memory of the fallen , sealed by the ritual of throwing the floral wreath into the sea, the presentation of the candidates for Graziella , the Procida Blues Festival , the live performances in Marina Grande by Le One (July 28), The Kolors (July 29) and Joe Barbieri (July 30), the “Games at Sea” (the kayak race, the tub race, the tug of war) through which ancient forms of play are revived among the Procidians.

Then comes the heart of the celebration, on Sunday 27 July, with the election of Graziella , the young woman from Procida who, according to the jury, most resembles the figure inspired by the famous novel by Alphonse de Lamartine , a girl born and raised in Procida in a humble fisherman's house, embodied by young people from the island, between 15 and 25 years old, wearing the traditional Procida costume made with fine fabrics and hand-made gold embroidery (a dress and a coat with an oriental cut, with carvings and embroidery in silk and gold thread, a handkerchief and matching shoes), testifying to the cultural contaminations and commercial exchanges over the centuries of the island with the Mediterranean and the East.

To facilitate attendance at the events even during the evening hours, special nighttime services will be available to and from Procida during the festival , operated by the Ippocampo company. The services will depart from Marina Grande and reach the port of Monte di Procida (Acquamorta), offering a comfortable and safe service for visitors arriving from the mainland. Private carriers will also operate connections to and from Ischia.
