Amazon rider schedule in Fiume Veneto: Assoespressi clarifies

In response to recent articles regarding Amazon drivers in Fiume Veneto, Assoespressi, the association representing companies providing last-mile delivery services to Amazon Italia Transport, has clarified the situation. The association specifies that, in accordance with the Second Level National Agreement, the companies have communicated the change in working hours to their employees and trade unions with 15 days' notice. This does not involve an extension of the work shift, but rather a simple shift start time extension of up to 40 minutes.
Safety and Working Conditions: Assoespressi emphasizes that measures to protect employee health and safety are strengthened during periods of intense heat. Member companies have implemented several actions, including: awareness campaigns, prompt reporting of risky situations, adjustments to workloads on peak days, checks on air conditioning operation, and constant water availability.
Regarding the extension of night hours during the winter months, if a company or employee believes that a suggested route is unsafe, they are encouraged to stop it and report it.
Finally, regarding damage to vehicles, Assoespressi reiterates that the procedures are governed by the National Collective Bargaining Agreement for Transport and Logistics (CCNL), which stipulates that the driver is not responsible for the first damage.
