Coca-Cola follows Trump's advice: the cane sugar-based drink arrives in the US.

ROME – Coca-Cola will use Donald Trump's recipe. Alongside other variations of the soft drink that, thanks to Vasco Rossi, has become the poster child for generations, a version made with cane sugar will arrive in Italy. James Quincey , CEO of the Atlanta company, confirmed that starting next fall, consumers will also find bottles inspired by the White House on American shelves, in addition to the more traditional ones made with corn syrup .
"This addition aims to complement the company's strong core portfolio and offer broader choice for all occasions and preferences," reads a note from the multinational listed on two Wall Street indexes, the Dow Jones and the S&P 500 .
Just a week ago, the president posted on Truth , Trump's social network, claiming that Coca-Cola had accepted his advice: "I discussed with Coca-Cola the use of real cane sugar in the United States, and they agreed." He continued: "I'd like to thank everyone at Coca-Cola. This will be a great decision on their part, you'll see. It's simply better!"
The company's response was terse, as in its 133-year history, since Asa Griggs Candler founded the brand in January 1892, it had yet to see a recipe dictated by the Oval Office. "We appreciate President Trump's enthusiasm for our iconic brand." Now comes the announcement from the food giant's top management. In Europe , it should be remembered, it uses conventional sucrose , but for US consumers it opts for high-fructose corn syrup (HFCS), which has been popular in the US since the 1970s thanks to federal subsidies for corn producers and tariffs on cane sugar. Now things are changing. The Trump cyclone strikes again.
