Confindustria Udine, Strategic Infrastructures for the Competitiveness of the Territory

A direct comparison to put infrastructure at the service of the competitiveness of Friuli Venezia Giulia. Today, at Palazzo Torriani, the president of Confindustria Udine, Luigino Pozzo, flanked by vice president Nicola Cescutti and general director Michele Nencioni, welcomed the regional councilor for Infrastructure and territory, Cristina Amirante. At the center of the meeting were the infrastructure projects that Friulian industrialists consider strategic for the future of the region.
“Friuli Venezia Giulia has great industrial potential, but modern infrastructure is needed to support existing businesses, attract new investments and create additional employment,” said Pozzo, thanking the councilor for his openness to dialogue. “Roads, railways, ports and interports are fundamental pillars on which to focus to make the area more competitive and welcoming for production activities.”
To decisively address these challenges, Confindustria Udine has established an ad hoc Commission, led by Vice President Cescutti, which has already identified a dozen priorities and related necessary interventions.
On the basis of this preparatory work, concrete proposals were presented to the councilor during the meeting. Among these, the completion of the southern Udine ring road and the Cimpello-Gemona-Sequals, the relaunch of Porto Nogaro – held back by operational delays – and the hypothesis of a tunnel at the Passo di Monte Croce Carnico.
Not only major works in the wishes of Confindustria Udine: among the emergencies, in fact, stand out - also for the strengthening of the operations of the industrial Consortia - the strengthening of the railway hub of Udine, with a second access in Ziac, the implementation of the railway yard of Osoppo, the construction of a roundabout at the motorway toll booth of Osoppo and a new bridge over the Fella, between Carnia and Amaro.
In addition to these priorities, there is also a whole series of specific maintenance interventions, no less important, on existing infrastructures.
“The objective – concluded President Pozzo – is clear: to maintain a constant dialogue with the Region to transform the proposals into reality, thus giving industrial Friuli Venezia Giulia, but not only, the infrastructures necessary to grow and compete”.
