Large-scale retail trade, the positive trend continues

Between July 14th and 20th , Italian modern distribution recorded a +1.33% increase compared to the same period in 2024. NielsenIQ data thus certify the eleventh consecutive increase for national large-scale distribution .

Specifically, the macro-area recording the best result is the South (Abruzzo, Molise, Puglia, Basilicata, Campania, Calabria, and Sicily): +2.68% . The Center (Tuscany, Umbria, Marche, Lazio, and Sardinia) and the Northeast (Emilia-Romagna, Veneto, Trentino-Alto Adige, and Friuli-Venezia Giulia) also performed well, closing the week with +1.54% and +1.21% , respectively. The Northwest (Piedmont, Valle d'Aosta, Liguria, and Lombardy), however, recorded a gain of less than 1 percentage point: +0.47% .

The annual progressive figure is down from +3.13% last week to +3.07% . The numbers for the entire month of July are also down, recording +2.27% (from +2.72% seven days ago).
