MPS, equal production bonus for all 16,500 bank employees

At MPS, all 16,500 employees will receive the same €1,500 production bonus. The Siena-based bank, led by Luigi Lovaglio, has reached an agreement with the unions Fabi, First, Fisac, Uilca, and Unisin. After more than ten years, this agreement brings Siena back to comprehensive economic and regulatory negotiations, following years of specific agreements on individual issues. The parties have renewed the company-wide collective bargaining agreement and the 2025 Production Bonus, which will be €1,500, equal for all, unrestricted, to protect the purchasing power of those on the lowest incomes. The bonus will be paid in the first half of 2026. The agreements provide "concrete proof to MPS workers that their commendable ability to support their company even in times of great economic difficulty is finally receiving the due and tangible rewards in terms of economic and social protection and treatment," commented Guido Fasano, deputy coordinator of Fabi in the Monte dei Paschi di Siena group.
The agreement covers many areas: professional development with improved entry and progression frameworks for sales network roles (the discussion for management roles will begin in October); regional mobility with more information for workers on locations requiring staff and improved commuting allowances; staff conditions with a reduction in spreads on employee mortgages, an increase in the duration of certain subsidies, and the ability to request interest rate changes up to four times; and leave and leave with the addition of new leave for paternity leave, childcare and preschool enrollment, and the death of first-degree relatives. Furthermore, the possibility of smart working 12 days a year has also been agreed upon within the sales network.
An agreement "the fruit of listening, patience, and determination," emphasizes Alessia Silvestri of First CISL. "The result is the starting point. After difficult years, we are beginning to provide concrete answers to the legitimate expectations of workers." "We are very satisfied; it was a long and complex process that allowed us to obtain a bonus, with a significant increase compared to last year," commented Federico Di Marcello and Luigi Pizzuto of Fisac CGIL. Carlo Magni of UILCA notes that it is "a comprehensive framework that recognizes rights, values skills, and consolidates participation."
