Public Administration approves 9,300 new hiring moves across ministries, agencies, and public bodies.

MILAN – 9,300 permanent public administration hires have been approved. With a Prime Minister's decree authorizing a total expenditure of €300 million, the government is strengthening public administration staffing, specifically ministries, the Prime Minister's Office, agencies, non-profit public entities, and national park authorities. The authorizations, explained Minister for Public Administration Paolo Zangrillo , cover a variety of professional profiles, including managers, administrative staff (assistants and operators, officials), Regional Administrative Court (TAR) magistrates, INPS doctors, officials, and technical professionals.
The Prime Ministerial Decree, which still needs approval from the Court of Auditors before publication in the Official Journal, specifies for each administration the details of the number of staff to be hired, their qualifications, and the related costs. The decree, the Ministry of Public Administration emphasizes, also provides an important clarification, "specifying that hiring powers for years prior to 2025 are deemed to be exercised through the issuance of the competition notice."
Among the administrations with the largest recruitment needs are the Revenue Agency, with 1,272 people to be recruited in 2025, the Customs Agency with 410, INPS with 1,305, and the Ministry of Defense with 2,424. The Ministry of the Interior is expected to hire 550 people, with authorization to announce competitions for an additional 1,072 people in 2026-27.
