Hong Kong Stock Exchange opens sitting slightly moved, a few hours after sending the first letters from US President Donald Trump to trading partners on tariffs: Hang Seng index rises in early trading fractional by 0.08%, to 23,905.77 points. The Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.04% to 3,474.63, while the Shenzhen one drops 0.04% to 2,073.54. Faced with US tariff pressure, China "remains firm in defending its rights and interests and in supporting international fairness and justice." Premier Li Qiang, during the meeting on the sidelines of the 17th BRICS summit with the number one of the World Trade Organization (WTO), Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, assured that Beijing has "a abundant resources and means to counter external impacts negative" and "is confident and able to promote development steady and healthy economic growth".
