Astronomy - How Many Eyes Were On Last Night's Graceful Full Moon - - Varese News

Photos, stories, poems. Tonight, the moon will be the star of the night scene. Earth's only satellite, it has always intrigued everyone, aerospace experts and non-experts alike.

This evening, Sunday, July 10th, starting at 10:37 PM, the first full moon of the summer was visible. The moon is entering its fifth phase, the full moon. Its reddish hue appears to be due to its position just above the horizon.

Over time, there have been many shepherds, astrologers, and writers interested in the Moon. Among them is a poet, the famous Recanati native from his native wild village, who wrote a poem in its honor, entitled "To the Moon."

Presumably written in 1819, Leopardi's poem "Alla Luna" (To the Moon) is among the best-known among Italian students. For Giacomo Leopardi, the moon becomes a close friend and a silent confidant of daily worries. She seems to listen to the poet contemplate her in the quiet of the evening.

To accompany this article, we've selected Barbara Canaglia's photo from among the many you've sent us, taken from your balcony or vacation spot.
