Andrea Colombo returns to the Metropolitan City as a legal expert for the Mobility Office
Bologna, 22 July 2025 – Bologna Mobility opens the doors to a great return , because Andrea Colombo , already a councilor in the first term of the Merola administration, joins the Metropolitan City as a legal-administrative expert.
Following the decision to create a single office between Palazzo d'Accursio and Palazzo Malvezzi , to jointly manage the functions of sustainable mobility and social public transport, i.e. those historically under the jurisdiction of the former Province which from 1 August will be under the direction of the capital, and after the greeting from Cleto Carlini , head of the Public Works, Greenery and Mobility department in the Municipality which is moving to the Region , here is the new structure of the sector.
The former municipal councilor won the selection process published by the Metropolitan City to find a legal expert to be assigned to the Office of Sustainable Mobility and Public Transport Development, part of the general management staff.
Only permanent public sector employees with a master's degree in law were eligible to apply. Nine applications were received, six of which were accepted. Three were eligible, with Colombo ranking first.
Who is Columbus? After serving as councilor in the first Merola administration , which was subsequently rejected for a second term, Colombo became an official of the Unione delle terre d'argine (Embankment Lands Union), which brings together the municipalities of Campogalliano, Carpi, Novi, and Soliera in the Modena area. In 2023, the former councilor returned to Bologna's mobility sector with the Fondazione innovazione urbana (Urban Innovation Foundation), as an expert in the environment , sustainable mobility, and public space, and as project manager for Città 30. He was the youngest councilor in the city of Bologna, pushing the envelope on green and sustainable mobility.
