Meloni among the illustrious women in a book for elementary school children. Teacher attacks: “Propaganda”

Meloni among the illustrious women in a book for elementary school children. Teacher attacks: “Propaganda”

Controversy in Limena, in the province of Padua, between an elementary school teacher and the Education Councilor of the Brothers of Italy. The object of the dispute was a pamphlet dedicated to illustrious women in history, including Giorgia Meloni . The volume was brought to the Manzoni elementary school by Councilor Eleonora Paccagnella and given to the students.

When it was time to take the group photo, in order not to show the faces of the young students, they were asked to cover themselves with the image of one of the women described in the pamphlet. Many chose that of the prime minister, probably because she was the most well-known, as the school principal explained. But for this very reason, one of the teachers accused the councilor of wanting to make propaganda. And the photo was not taken in order not to create further controversy.

The councilor said there was no propaganda intent, but that Giorgia Meloni was included because she was the first woman prime minister in Italy. Tina Anselmi and Nilde Iotti were also mentioned, respectively the first woman to be a minister and the first woman to hold the third highest office in the state.
