Report commits crimes, but RAI accuses Sigfrido Ranucci of nonsense…

"Yellow Envelope" Journalism

The RAI management has taken disciplinary action against Sigfrido Ranucci , who is the man who directs Report , because they say he was on a La7 show without permission, and perhaps presented a book. Absolute nonsense, a measure that is neither here nor there. The curious thing is that the RAI management is not dealing with what Sigfrido Ranucci does on his show. It is called investigative journalism, but it is something a little different. I'll explain, investigative journalism is when journalists conduct investigations, go on site, discover things, talk to people, report phenomena. Then there is another type of journalism, which we once called yellow envelope journalism, which is when someone publishes things that come to them from the prosecutor's offices, the secret services. We used to call them yellow envelopes because big yellow envelopes would arrive in the newsroom and we would make fun of our colleagues who did this type of journalism, which is not real journalism, it is a way of putting yourself at the service sometimes of the prosecutors, sometimes of the secret services. But this is not the issue today.
The issue today is that Report has read and published, has read in full the wiretaps of General Mori. Mario Mori , one of the Carabinieri officers who has done the most in Italy in the fight against the mafia, together with Falcone and Borsellino , and he published these wiretaps which were secret. They were evidently given to him by the Prosecutor's Office, we need to find out by whom, but certainly no one else had them because they had not been filed and therefore let's say there is a crime, committed by whoever published these wiretaps, which by the way were not at all sensational. They claimed for example that Mori had proposed to a journalist of Dubbio , Damiano Aliprandi , a journalist consultant to the Anti-mafia Commission, but Aliprandi who is a serious person said " No because I am in litigation with Scarpinato ", who instead is part of the Commission and who is an old magistrate from Palermo. The Commission is investigating what the Palermo Prosecutor's Office did during Scarpinato 's time, so the conflict of interest is stronger than Scarpinato's, but Scarpinato remains on the Commission, Aliprandi, who is a serious person, said no, I cannot accept any collaboration because I have a conflict of interest.
This is the question, the leak, who did it, why and why did RAI, which is a public service, publish it, RAI should investigate this, why did it become responsible for a crime? And the second question is: why does someone have an interest and then use RAI as a tool, as a club to strike, is interested in striking the Anti-Mafia Commission that is investigating the Borsellino murder and the archiving of the investigation into mafia procurement that Borsellino wanted to work on? Who is interested in this? This is a very interesting thing, it is clear that there is an operation to attack the Anti-Mafia Commission that is operating in this field because even after 30 years they want to bury under a sea of lies what is the reality of the mafia of those years and what is the reality denounced by Borsellino himself of a Palermo prosecutor's office that was deeply corrupt and from that corruption then everything is born and all the things that we do not know today are born. Here RAI could deal with this instead of making those stupid communications and disciplinary actions against the safe creed that doesn't exist now.
