Tar annuls Pescara municipal elections: new vote in 27 sections

The Abruzzo Regional Administrative Court partially accepts the appeal against the results of the 2024 Pescara elections and orders the "annulment of the acts of proclamation of the elected candidates for Mayor and Municipal Councilors", in addition to the "obligation to repeat the electoral procedure" for 27 sections.
"Until the new proclamation, following the partial renewal of the elections, the current municipal elective bodies continue to exercise their functions, as regards ordinary administration and urgent and non-deferrable acts", it reads. The judges have forwarded everything to the Prosecutor's Office to assess the existence of hypotheses of crime.
In the 2024 elections, Carlo Masci became mayor in the first round with 51% for the center-right. While Carlo Costantini , leading the center-left coalition, had recorded 34.2%.
