The message referred to the tragic story of Martina Carbonaro , the young woman from Afragola who was the victim of femicide at just 14 years old. The target of the attack was Ginevra, the daughter of the prime minister, an eight-year-old girl who was unwillingly involved in the increasingly tense climate of the national public debate.

The complaint came from another employee of the Ministry, Roberto Della Ragione, who made the episode known and urged Minister Giuseppe Valditara to intervene with severe measures. The minister promptly expressed solidarity with President Meloni, condemning without hesitation the threats directed at her family, underlining the intolerance towards any form of violence.

“It was a stupid gesture, written on impulse. I apologize for the content of the post: you never wish death, especially to a child . But I do not withdraw my political ideas: I do not feel represented by this government”.

Addeo explained that he wrote the post during the night, after hearing on the news that Italy continued to send weapons to Israel. He said that he woke up the next morning, realizing what he had written and that he immediately deleted it . The teacher assured that he was aware of the seriousness of the gesture, but stressed that he had never been involved in politics in class, that he was well-liked by his students, that he condemned all forms of violence, that he loved animals and that he was dedicated to volunteer work, finally acknowledging that it had been a mistake.

The professor then reported that he had received death threats , insults of various kinds and acts of vandalism such as throwing tomatoes at the windows of his house. He explained that he had turned to the Postal Police to file a complaint.

"I do not accept that a teacher must blindly share the government's ideas to be considered worthy of his role. My students adore me and the messages they are sending me in these hours demonstrate this ," he concluded, addressing Minister Valditara.

The Prime Minister 's reaction was immediate and clear, expressed through a message published on X full of pain and dismay for what happened:

“This is not a political clash. It is not even anger. It is something darker, which tells of a sick climate, an ideological hatred, in which everything seems permissible, even wishing death to a child to strike a parent. And it is against this violent climate that politics, all of it, should know how to unite. Because there are borders that must never be crossed. And defending them is a responsibility that goes beyond any affiliation”.

Many political figures expressed solidarity with the prime minister. The Minister of University and Research, Anna Maria Bernini, defined the gesture as " vile and unacceptable ", denouncing it as a form of barbarism that deeply offends humanity and exceeds every limit of respect and democratic civility.

The President of the Senate, Ignazio La Russa, also condemned the threats, calling them repugnant and expressing his closeness to Giorgia Meloni and her family. Solidarity also came from the left, with Angelo Bonelli of Europa Verde branding the post as intolerable, recalling the importance of keeping political debate within the limits of respect, without degenerating into hatred and violence.
