Umbria Prisoners' Guarantor, Protests Triggered by Heat

It was particularly hot intense in recent days to trigger protests in prisons of Terni and Spoleto. The Guarantor of the prisoners of the Umbria Region, Giuseppe Caforio who fears "it is just the beginning of a fiery summer". The guarantor is constantly contact with the two facilities and with the other prisons. Caforio has informed the President of the Region Stefania Proietti and Councilor Fabio Barcaioli who are following the situation. In Terni there are problems with the showers because the water does not reaches the highest floors. There is a lack of space everywhere. With the beginning of the holidays then exacerbates the problem of staffing of the penitentiary police". Terni and Spoleto both host prisoners subjected to the so-called hard prison. The areas of 41 bis have not been still affected by the protests.
