Galaxy S25 Edge, how the super thin Samsung smartphone is made and how much it costs

Galaxy S25 Edge, how the super thin Samsung smartphone is made and how much it costs

We finally got our hands on the Galaxy S25 Edge , the thinnest smartphone ever made by Samsung .

After two glimpses of it — first at the official Galaxy S25 launch in San Jose, California, and then at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona — the device is now ready to hit the market.

Thickness makes the difference

From the first touch, the Galaxy S25 Edge immediately conveys a sensation of elegance and lightness .

Those accustomed to the Galaxy S25 Ultra will immediately notice the difference: we're talking about about 3 millimeters less thick, a difference that is clearly perceptible to the touch.

The thickness of just 5.8 mm (compared to 8.2 mm for the Ultra) and the weight of only 163 grams (compared to 218 grams for the Ultra) make the S25 Edge a true champion of handling. A detail not to be underestimated for those who want a powerful but compact smartphone.

The compact design

The design remains consistent with that of the other models in the S25 series: rounded corners, slightly protruding rear cameras and a titanium body that guarantees excellent resistance to impacts and falls. The available colors are three: Ice Blue, Silver and Jet Black .

The Galaxy S25 Edge introduces an absolute first: it is the first smartphone to mount Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2, developed by Corning, which protects the 6.7-inch AMOLED display with QHD+ resolution (1440 x 3120 pixels) and 120 Hz refresh rate, a standard now consolidated for Samsung.

Always top performance

Despite its thin body, performance remains high thanks to the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, designed specifically for the Galaxy series. Unlike the other S25 models, the Edge uses a 7-core CPU instead of 8.

Despite the limited space, Samsung has found a way to create a small cooling chamber inside the new Edge which, according to the South Korean company, supports performance and prevents excessive overheating of the device.

Memory equipment includes 12GB of RAM , with two storage options available: 256GB and 512GB.

Little space: there is no optical zoom

The photographic sector inevitably suffers from the compact size: the main camera is 200 MP , but there is no telephoto lens. A 12 MP ultra-wide angle and macro mode for close-up shots remain.

Battery, OS and AI

The battery is something to consider carefully: with a capacity of 3,900 mAh , it is positioned above the base model S25, but remains distant from the 4,855 mAh of the Galaxy S25 Ultra, which in our tests guaranteed a full day of heavy use. The S25 Edge supports both wired and wireless charging up to 25 watts.

The operating system is Android 15 with One UI 7.0 interface.

Samsung guarantees software and security updates for seven years, and of course Galaxy AI is not missing, with all the artificial intelligence features present on the other models in the series.

Price and availability in Italy

The Galaxy S25 Edge is available for pre-order at a price that is anything but affordable: 1,249 euros for the 256 GB version and 1,419 euros for the 512 GB version.

Currently, a Samsung promotion allows you to purchase the 512 GB version for the same price as the base model.
