Here are Panasonic's new TVs for 2025: little AI, lots of substance

In the hyper-saturated TV market, competition is fierce and margins are slim, so it's no surprise that over the past year and a half, nearly every TV manufacturer has gone to great lengths to convince us that we need a dash of AI on our TVs too. The problem isn't the usefulness of AI-based features, which can sometimes be great ideas and sometimes just marketing fluff, but the prominence they're given in product promotion. It's refreshing to see that not all companies have chosen to follow this path. For example, when previewing its new 2025 TV range, Panasonic chose to keep the tone purely technical , preferring to leave the task of positioning and showcasing new products to engineering innovations.
Z95 B OLED TV: a lot of smoke and a lot of roastPanasonic's new 2025 OLED TVs, on the other hand, have no need for AI flourishes. The Z95 B series, available in 55”, 65” and 77” formats, significantly improves image quality and brightness (+40% compared to the previous model) thanks to the Primary RGB Tandem panels and ThermalFlow cooling.

The panels used on the new series have a four-layer emission configuration, to optimize the wavelength of light to improve color rendering. The result is more detailed and more realistic images. The “Prime Video Calibrated” mode also goes in this direction, which as the name suggests is designed to improve the viewing experience of content from Amazon’s streaming service. In other words, the TV automatically optimizes the image settings based on the type of content, adjusting parameters such as brightness, color temperature and fluidity of movements to adapt to different displays. The system also uses the light sensors of the Z95 B TVs to calibrate the image based on the ambient lighting and works with both standard and extended dynamic range content.

The whole thing is managed by the HCX Pro AI MK II processor (the only element where the overused acronym creeps in) which can work without problems at maximum speeds also and above all thanks to the Panasonic ThermalFlow system. To demonstrate this to us (as it had already done at CES) Panasonic has set up a small experiment with a smoke machine: the steam enters from the lower part and thanks to the wonders of fluid dynamics it rises upwards, with a white smoke that does not signal the election of the Pope but rather the very high thermal efficiency of the internal dissipation system.
To improve cooling, the company has also revised the TV's design , which is now a single flat rectangular block. The aesthetic success can be discussed, but the new shape is not just for aesthetics: it has allowed Panasonic engineers and their colleagues at Technics to significantly improve the audio output, thanks to the strategic positioning of the speakers in the body.
Thanks to advanced optimizations, audio performance has undergone a radical transformation. Immersion is guaranteed by the 360° Soundscape Pro system, which is based on a line array arrangement, with the addition of front, upward and side speakers, to ensure a wider sound diffusion. The speaker system is covered in fabric like high-end speakers, and integrates the Space Tune and Sound Focus systems that allow the user to adjust the positioning of the audio to their liking.

The advanced technical features of the Z95B range correspond (understandably) to prices that are affordable for few : starting from €2,999 for the 55” model, and rising to €3,899 and €5,999 respectively for the 65” and 77” formats.
The other OLEDsFor those who are still interested in an OLED but want to spend less, Panasonic also has the Z90B series in its catalog (42”, 48”, 55”, 65” and the new 77”) and the entry-level Z80B OLED range, the latter with prices starting from € 1,299. The Z90B series features the same HCX Pro AI MK II processor and Master Oled panel as the higher models. The TVs are also equipped with an Intelligent Sensing system, to modify parameters such as color temperature and shadows to adapt the image quality to external brightness levels. Immersive audio is guaranteed in this case by the Dynamic Theater Surround Pro system, supported by Dolby Atmos. There is a 30 W subwoofer and the front speakers hidden behind the fabric finish make the addition of a soundbar superfluous.

The Z80B is finally available in 48", 55" and 65" formats. Here too there is the same processor, which guarantees 4K ultra HD quality with Dolby Vision, Filmmaker Mode (to watch films with the best possible settings) and HDR10+. On the Z80B, as well as on the higher-end models Z90B and Z95B, the Panasonic TV Premium system with integrated Amazon FireTV runs. The interface combines live broadcasts, applications, streaming suggestions on demand with compatibility with all the major distribution platforms. Also noteworthy is the compatibility with Apple Home and with the Apple AirPlay system to view multimedia content directly from Apple devices.
The prices of the Z80B and Z90B TVs are as follows:

The LED seriesThe new Panasonic 2025 LEDs focus on seamless integration into home spaces. The W95B series, available in sizes from 55" to 85", introduces a Mini LED system with dual-zone control and improved backlighting.
Here too, the processor is the same HCX Pro AI MK II as the OLEDs, also present on the W93B series. Thanks to its computing power, the TV is able to optimize images, especially in the case of streaming content, reducing noise. The Prime Video Calibrated mode automatically adjusts parameters such as brightness and color temperature to adapt to Amazon content, while the integrated light sensors modify the image based on the room lighting.

On the audio front, the W95B model integrates a 20W subwoofer that, while not as powerful as the 30W of the OLED Z95B series, delivers a full-bodied bass, great for movies and games. All models support Dolby Atmos for an immersive sound experience.
For gamers, the W95B and W93B series include Game Mode Extreme with reduced input lag and up to 144Hz refresh rate, as well as support for AMD FreeSync Premium. The Game Control Board in the TV’s smart menu provides quick access to essential settings while gaming.
As with OLED models, the built-in Fire TV interface finally brings together live and streaming content with support for Apple AirPlay and Home compatibility.
The new range of Panasonic LED TVs will be available from July 2025.
